The name of the dish “grilled” comes from the word “heat”, because once it is cooked over an open fire or in an oven. Today, in most cases, an ordinary frying pan is enough to enjoy the wonderful taste of pork with potatoes, which are first fried in oil until a delicious crust, and then cooked over low heat under a lid until all the ingredients are saturated. Each other’s juice, smell and become soft.
To prepare barbecue at home, we need:
- pork – 800 g. Take a pork neck so that it remains soft and tender during cooking;
- Tomato paste – 2 tbsp. for ;
- carrots – 2 pcs.;
- onion – 2 pcs.;
- bay leaf
- fresh greens;
- water – 3.5 cups;
- potatoes – 1 kg;
- Vegetable oil;
- Salt, pepper, spices to taste.
Step by step recipe:
- Let’s prepare the meat. Wash the pork well under running water and let it dry. Then cut into small sticks.
- Clean, wash and cut the potatoes into cubes the same size as the pork chops.
- Onions and carrots are cleaned, washed and cut into rings.
- Heat the pan by adding a spoonful of vegetable oil. Fry the meat pieces for five minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are covered with a delicious crust on all sides.
- Add the carrots and onions to the fried meat and mix. Fry until the onions become transparent. We try to stir often so that the carrots do not burn.
- Pour water into the pan so that it covers the meat. Then add spices to taste and close the lid. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add potato cubes and more water to the meat. The liquid level should be just below the potatoes.
- Once the potatoes are soft, add the tomato paste diluted with water, salt, and sugar to the roast. If desired, tomato paste can be replaced with tomatoes.
- At the end, the finished dish is sprinkled with fresh herbs and chopped garlic. Serve the roast hot.
Grills can also be cooked in utensils.
- To do this, gradually fry all the ingredients in a pan until golden brown, after which we put the meat with vegetables in pots. At the bottom we put a bay leaf, then meat and potatoes, and on top of onions and carrots.
- Add water so that it covers the contents of the pots by about a finger.
- We heat the oven to 220 degrees. When it warms up, send the pots there and cook for about half an hour.
