Ingredients

  • butter 80 gm
  • Carrots 600 grams
  • whiskey 130ml
  • Brown cane sugar 80 gm
  • salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Thyme, sprig 1 pc.

cooking

Peel the carrots and cut them obliquely.

Heat a frying pan over high heat and add half the oil. When it melts, add the carrots and fry for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Put on a plate. If the pan doesn’t fit all the carrots, fry half at a time.

Pour whiskey into the pan. Cook over high heat for 2-3 minutes, until the quantity decreases slightly.

Reduce the heat and add the second half of the butter. Stir until dissolved. Add brown sugar and season with salt and pepper.

When the sugar has dissolved, add the carrots and half the leaves from the thyme sprig. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Garnish the finished glazed carrots with the remaining thyme and serve.
